NEW MATERIALS FOR THE CHARACTERISTICS OF VEGETATION AND SOILS OF THE LUBNY STAGE OF THE EARLY NEOPLEISTOCENE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article summarizes new materials of palynological studies of Lubny stage deposits in sections located within the northern and central parts of the Dnieper Upland, the central and northwestern parts of the Dnieper Lowland, the central part of the Podolian Upland, the Pridonetskaya Plain. On the basis of the data obtained, the composition of Ukraine's vegetation in the Lubny stage time is detailed, which allowed us to reconstruct the vegetation not only of the optima of Lubny pedogenesis, but also of short-term endothermal coolings, during which thin loess-like loams separating the soils of optima were formed, as well as the final stage of pedogenesis. Regional differences in the structure of the Lubny vegetation cover within the Pridneprovskaya and Podolian Uplands, the Dnieper Lowland and the Pridonetskaya Plain are established, as well as general patterns of changes in Ukraine's vegetation in the early, middle and late Lubny times. New data are presented on the micromorphological characterization of the Lubny deposits of the central and western parts of the Ukrainian Shield, which made it possible to detail the history of the development of soils in Lubny time. A map of the soil cover of the Middle Bug River basin in the Lubny time is constructed.
